La casa se emplaza en un terreno de 8.000 m² en Huilo Huilo, junto al río Fuy, inmersa en el bosque templado valdiviano del sur de Chile. Frente a un entorno de gran densidad vegetal, el proyecto concentra el programa en un volumen de tres niveles que ocupa un claro existente del bosque. Esta decisión reduce la huella construida y permite preservar prácticamente intacta la vegetación nativa que rodea la casa, evitando extender la ocupación sobre el terreno. La organización del programa responde a esta estrategia. El primer nivel alberga el acceso, los dormitorios de invitados y las áreas de servicio; el segundo reúne la cocina, el comedor y el estar en una planta libre concebida como el principal espacio de encuentro; mientras que el último nivel contiene el dormitorio principal, con baño en suite y sauna, ambos orientados hacia el bosque. Una escalera central articula el recorrido vertical de la vivienda y conduce progresivamente a través de los distintos estratos del dosel arbóreo. Un sistema de pasarelas elevadas conecta la casa con los estacionamientos, la bodega y leñera, además de una terraza bajo los árboles que incorpora una tinaja, una ducha exterior y una gran mesa para compartir al aire libre. La estructura constituye el principal elemento arquitectónico del proyecto. Está resuelta íntegramente en madera laminada mecanizada de pino radiata, prefabricada fuera de obra en grandes elementos estructurales —vigas, pilares y diagonales— que se ensamblan para conformar un sistema continuo, capaz de resolver simultáneamente las exigencias constructivas y la expresión de la casa. La prefabricación redujo los tiempos de montaje en un sitio remoto y permitió un mayor control sobre la precisión de la obra. Los interiores están revestidos en tablas de pino, mientras que el exterior combina paños de muro cortina con revestimiento metálico prepintado, materiales de baja mantención que protegen íntegramente la estructura de madera de las condiciones climáticas del lugar. Los pisos de porcelanato continuo están instalados sobre una losa radiante de hormigón. La casa propone una forma de habitar el bosque desde su interior. Su desarrollo vertical permite experimentar las distintas alturas del paisaje, recorriendo las variaciones de luz, vegetación y vistas que ofrece el dosel valdiviano. La implantación, la organización espacial y la estructura responden a una misma lógica: intervenir lo mínimo posible el lugar y construir una relación directa entre arquitectura y paisaje. en un territorio históricamente ligado al pastoreo y a la vida rural. El proyecto responde a dos preguntas: cómo situarse en un paisaje que transita del campo a la periferia urbana, y cómo habita hoy el campo una familia que ya no depende de la tierra. El diseño se lee como un conjunto de volúmenes simples, de carácter agrícola, que citan las tipologías rurales del lugar —vivienda principal, galpones, bodegas. El volumen principal corre paralelo al deslinde sur y conforma, junto a un futuro volumen de garaje y quincho, un patio de acceso. Esta disposición protege la casa de la propiedad vecina, mientras el conjunto se abre hacia el norte y el oriente, hacia la pradera, el bosque y la cuenca del lago Llanquihue a la distancia. Aleros continuos protegen la circulación exterior en ambas fachadas, y un ritmo estricto y regular de ventanas otorga a cada elevación una silueta fuerte y legible. Al interior, la cocina articula la planta: hacia un lado, la suite principal y el patio de invierno; hacia el otro, el living comedor y la escalera que conduce a los dormitorios de los hijos. Un living de doble altura combina un área más formal con un rincón familiar más informal. El patio de invierno, un espacio flexible para el juego, el ejercicio o el secado de ropa, podrá transformarse más adelante en un dormitorio de huéspedes. La madera define tanto la piel como el interior de la casa: terminación natural en el espacio principal de estar, madera pintada en el resto de las dependencias, y revestimiento exterior de pino impregnado en bruto. Las ventanas son de dimensiones modestas y repetitivas por diseño, evitando vanos de mayor costo y manteniendo el presupuesto bajo control. Tras un exterior simple y unitario, el interior se despliega en variaciones de altura y ancho —un volumen silencioso que contiene un hogar flexible e imprevisible. sus invitados), quienes compartirían dos espacios comunes: un espacio central abierto para toda la familia y un salón más informal para los más jóvenes. Además, debía considerar dos baños compartidos, almacenamiento, recintos utilitarios y un plan maestro que permitiera un acceso controlado a algunos lugares únicos del terreno. Finalmente, el encargo debía reutilizar una plataforma de acero y madera que se había ejecutado en un anteriormente en un intento fallido de construcción. La plataforma que reciclamos definió la planta y la posición de la casa en la punta de la península dentro de un claro del bosque, a la vez que permitió resolver parte del programa, contemplando dos dormitorios dobles en los extremos, un espacio abierto. común en el centro (living-comedor-cocina), los dos baños, chiflonera, hall de acceso y terraza techada con parrilla en obra. Organizamos el programa de la planta baja de forma que se aprovecharan las vistas, contemplando dos ejes perpendiculares que atraviesan la casa y permiten vistas en sus extremos hacia los cuatro puntos cardinales. De esta manera, un corredor en el eje este-oeste termina en ventanas hacia el río, mientras que el espacio central se abre al norte (sol) y al sur (río y cerro). De esta forma el sol entra en la casa en diferentes momentos del día permitiendo un dominio excepcional del entorno y sus vistas. En el segundo piso dispusimos una gran sala con 8 literas a los lados, que comparten un espacio central para albergar las actividades de los más jóvenes. Finalmente, desarrollamos una serie de plataformas que eluden los árboles existentes para acercarse a diferentes rincones del paisaje. Estas plataformas permiten el acceso a la casa y sus alrededores sin importar las condiciones climáticas e incluyen una pasarela que conecta la casa con el garaje, un gran deck que termina en una piscina de madera asomada hacia el río y un segundo deck que ingresa al bosque bajo enormes árboles y conduce al río y a una tina caliente. El encargo se resolvió a través de una silueta arquetípica que por un lado se destaca de la naturaleza en la que se encuentra inmerso, pero que al mismo tiempo no quiere llamar la atención ya que se refiere a la arquitectura que siempre ha estado presente en el lugar. Una piel de tablones de madera desgastados por el sol cubre las fachadas principales, tomando prestada la forma en que se forran los galpones de la zona y el tono gris de la corteza de los árboles. El interior de la casa completamente revestido de madera negra permite un gran contraste con el paisaje blanco de invierno y verde de verano y ofrece un ambiente de introspección y tranquilidad acorde con la vocación del refugio. la casa se emplaza en un terreno plano, en el fondo de un valle rodeado de cerros con bosques de araucarias, lengas y otras especies nativas, con vistas lejanas al volcán Lonquimay por el norte y hacia la Sierra Nevada por el sur. La casa se diseñó propiciando el encuentro, la vida social y la contemplación del paisaje, a través de un gran espacio central de doble orientación (norte y sur), donde se dispusieron estar,&nbsp; comedor y cocina. Las zonas privadas pasan a segundo plano en dos alas independiente ubicadas en los extremos oriente y poniente de la casa, una para los dueños de casa y otra para invitados. Cada ala contiene dos dormitorios y un baño. La planta de barra alargada y la sección a dos aguas permitieron resolver aspectos programáticos y climáticos, tales como conseguir una gran luz y altura en el espacio central o evacuar correctamente la lluvia y la nieve durante el invierno. La piel exterior, completamente en metal ondulado, permite abrirse o cerrarse gradualmente en sus caras principales, controlando el ingreso de sol y calor o dejar la casa completamente cerrada cuando no está siendo habitada, como una silueta rotunda en el paisaje. Dado el emplazamiento agresivo en términos de clima y accesibilidad, se optó por un volumen único y compacto que contiene todo el programa, con una estructura simple, de una sola sección y con
